Jean Louis Lebris de Kerouac (born March 12, 1922 in Lowell, Massachusetts - October 21, 1969 in Saint Petersburg, Florida), was an US-american author and together with Allen Ginsberg and William S. Burroughs one of the founders of the so called Beat Generation. His novel "on the road" published in 1957 made him famous and became a cult book. The book describes a road trip of a group of friends travelling throughout the US, in search of friendship, brotherhood, love, freedom, spontanity and an unconventionel way of life which included drugs, parties and music and rejected the post war role models of. The Beat generation was the first modern sub culture and therefore influential for the ones that followed (Hippies, Punk...)

Andrew Bear, 28 years, served in Iraq as infantrist, received severe head injury, suffers hugely from PTSD and epilepsy. Andrew in his garage where he stores his PTSD medication (against anxiety, depressions, epilepsy, to sleep, to tranquilize!!!!!!). Posttraumatic stress disorder[ (PTSD) is a severe anxiety disorder that can develop after exposure to any event which results in psychological trauma e.g. warfare. This event may involve the threat of death to oneself or to someone else, or to one's own or someone else's physical, sexual, or psychological integrity, overwhelming the individual's psychological defenses. PTSD has also been recognized in the past as railway spine, stress syndrome, shell shock, battle fatigue, traumatic war neurosis, or post-traumatic stress syndrome. Diagnostic symptoms include re-experiencing original trauma(s), by means of flashbacks or nightmares; avoidance of stimuli associated with the trauma; and increased arousal, such as difficulty falling or staying asleep, anger, and hypervigilance. Formal diagnostic criteria require that the symptoms last more than one month and cause significant impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning (e.g. problems with work and/or relationships).

He is fluent in Navajo language, organizes and celebrates sundance gatherings and tries to uphold the Navajo traditions. The Navajo Nation (Diné Bikéyah in the Navajo language) is a semi-autonomous Native American homeland covering about 67,339 square kilometres, occupying all of northeastern Arizona, the southeastern portion of Utah, and northwestern New Mexico. It is the largest land area assigned primarily to a Native American jurisdiction within the United States. The Nation encompasses the land, kinship, language, religion, and the right of its people to govern themselves. Members of the Nation are often known as Navajo but traditionally call themselves Diné which means "The People" in Navajo. The 2000 census reported 298,215 Navajo people living throughout the United States, of which 173,987 (58.34%) were within the Navajo Nation boundaries.

Harlem, New York City, New York, USA. 28.02.2010 (C) DANIEL ROSENTHAL Gentrification in Harlem. Pastor Johnny Green preaches during Sunday service in his First Church of Christ Holiness on 1935 Madison Ave. Green was a drug dealer and spent 25 years in prison before becoming a pastor in 2001. The many churches are one of Harlem's trademarks. (from 110th Street up to 125th and from Lexington Ave east to Frederick Douglas Blvd west). Harlem is a neighborhood in the New York City borough of Manhattan, which since the 1920s has been a major African-American residential, cultural, and business center. New York's revival in the late 20th century has led to renewal in Harlem as well. By 1995, Harlem was experiencing social and economic gentrification. Though the percentage of residents who are black peaked in 1950, the area remains predominantly black.

War is a small town inhabited by around 900 people at the most southern part of West Virginia in the Appalachian mountains. War is located within Mc Dowell county which is known to be the poorest county in the USA. The former coal mining town is haunted by unemployment, poverty, drug abuse (oxycotin). There is no other town in the USA called War.

Its known for an odd mix of people including freaks, showman, ordinary families, lots of attractions like the wonder wheel or the cyclone rollercoaster and food and drink like Nathans famous hot dog shop. Coney Island is a peninsula, formerly an island, in southernmost Brooklyn, New York City, USA, with a beach on the Atlantic Ocean. The area was a major resort and site of amusement parks that reached its peak in the early 20th century. It declined in popularity after World War II and endured years of neglect but lately gained popularity again.

The USA of Barack Obama and John McCain. Chicago of Barack Obama. Teenagers hang out in front of a so-called drug house (where drugs are dealt) in the notorious Roseland district. This area is mainly black, poor and troubled by drugs, violence and a lack of perspective and opportunities. Since May 2007 approx. 84 teenagers got killed in gang violence in Chicago. Violence nowadays completely got out of hands as all the leaders of the different gangs are either dead or imprisoned and even minimal rules of conduct deteriorated as a consequence. The owner Jim Brown, who served 15 years in the army and fought in Haiti, Bosnia, 2nd Gulf war supports Mccain and describes himself as a Republican. Quote: " The only bad thing about dying for your country is that you cant do it twice". All the police and army personal gets their hair cut at Jims place.
